The Original Nathan’s on Coney Island

Nathans_exteriorI hadn’t been to Coney Island since I was a child, and since it was sooo far we never got around to it until the very end. It’s seriously like over an hour and a half subway ride… I’m really glad we went though on one of the last days of summer and got to eat at Nathan’s original location by the boardwalk. It totally reminded me of a scene right out of the Jersey Shore lol.

Nathans_menuThere were a variety of hot dogs and french fries to choose from, one healthier than the next ;). I tried to keep it simple and went for the original hot dog with sauerkraut and grilled onions. Now growing up in Florida, you’ll find a Nathan’s at just about every rest stop on the turnpike, and I can’t say that I ever willingly dined there, but there was just something about these original Nathan’s hot dogs…They really were better!

Nathans_hotdogOk so the french fries were a heart attack waiting to happen, loaded with cheese and topped with bacon, but we shared so I figured it was ok :).

Nathans_cheesefriesI thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon at Coney Island and Nathan’s. Would I go on a regular basis? No probably not, but it is definitely something to experience!
