Revel – Boozy Brunch Revelry

Revel_interior2Continuing along in our girls’ weekend, my friend had recommended Revel in meatpacking for brunch, not so much for its culinary prowess but rather for its bottomless brunch feature – $35 for an entrèe and two hours of unlimited mimosas, bellini, and sangria. We wanted to show our guests a good time!

Revel_interiorI had been here for drinks one night, but had never been during the day, and was surprised at how pretty it was. It was too bad that the weather was a little rainy because on a nice day, they open the retractable roof and you can enjoy some sun while sipping your mimosas. But even with the roof closed, they really did a great job of bringing the outdoors in. I loved the climbing vines on the brick wall and the lush green trees with hanging lights.

Revel_drinksAs soon as we sat down, they brought us a carafe of mimosa, bellini, and sangria (spiked with vodka) so we could help ourselves and refill as often as we liked. I could revel in this all day – this could be dangerous!

And now for the food… I decided to go with something easy, the Cheeseburger, also something I hadn’t had in quite some time. It was actually much better than I had expected, as I mentioned earlier I wasn’t really expected five star dining. The burger was tender and had a nice chargrill on the outside and was pretty rare on the inside just like I had ordered. It was nothing mind blowing, but it was a very solid cheeseburger.

Two of the girls got the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with mozzarella, tomato, arugula and basil mayonnaise. They both agreed that the chicken was a bit dry, and the bread was too thick and crusty and therefore needed more basil mayo.

One of the girls got the Frittata which was comprised of prosciutto, mushrooms, peas, and truffle oil. She was very happy with her choice and said it was delicious!

Revel_frittata(white)After two hours of talking, laughing, eating and drinking, we left Revel with full bellies and smiles on our faces. The bottomless brunch is a great deal in my opinion, and although the food is average, the ambiance and drink deal definitely make up for it.
